Thanks all!
Jennifer, I really appreciate you reaching out as a practitioner. I will give your office a call later to see what the rates and copays and such would be as I have always wanted to try chiropractor work at least a little. I live in SF though, and the drive is absolute hell on my legs, so I will have to plan this more for the future when I'm healed a little better.
I DID however, make it to the doctor and acupuncture yesterday and monday and have some more info on what is going on. The PA says it is likely I pulled the muscle/tissue around my lower quads, which is a common condition for runners and such. It makes perfect sense because of how often I sit with my knee back, "stretching" the kneecap area. However, Lyme is a hell of a contributor IMO cause I've never injured myself this bad from sitting, lol.
Knowing to keep my leg straight has helped a lot, as I am typing this I can feel a lot less pain. Not bending me knee during sleep has been difficult, but I am making progress. The PA ordered an MRI and hopefully I can't heal here and won't need some kind of surgery.
Susan, I sent a request to join that group. Would love to come to the meeting on Sept 17th, if you're able to accept my request or email location info that would be cool!
Angela, thank you for the ice protocool! I will try this in the next day or two if things aren't improving more. It does sound harsh but also helpful!
Best,
Zach

HI Zak, I am a low force chiropractor in
Berkeley, I do gentle adjustments with an Activator
instrument. For the knees you might benefit from some
therapuetic ultrasound therapy too. I am not in network
with Medi- Cal and sadly Medicare does not cover the initial
cost with a chiropractor, but follow-up visits would have a
copay. If you are interested please call my office at
[masked].
I also have Lyme and am treating
with bee venom therapy at home. Using live bees
successfully. I can tell you that bee venom is highly
anti-inflammatory, 100x stronger than cortisone, and offers
relief from this respect in addition to killing the
spirochetes.
Anna Liisa posted the info on our
BVT meetup group and the next meeting is Sept 17th in
Oakland, a saturday afternoon.

I’ll be away for a bit but will connect upon my
return re: bee venom. I tried it twice. (Someone else
administered it). My reactions were severe with only 3 bites
and I practically tore my skin off with itching. I have a
lot to learn, but am willing to try again. Wellness is
appealing!

Hi
Zach
Take
the time to go to the Bee Venom meetup. It took me 10 months
to embrace this therapy, but once I started, I knew this was
my saving grace. I had run out of money, home.. Even car...
and a family support structure to continue seeing my LLMD,
but I knew I had to keep treating or risked becoming super
ill again.
It's
the most amazing treatment of all... And I'm so glad I
jumped for it !
The
help is there to get started. Connect with the group that
Anna Liisa provided. There is also information on Facebook
group "Bee Venom Therapy for Lyme Disease" you can
access and chat with others. There are valuable resources on
the "info" page in this group... Protocols and
videos, etc.
It's
not as hard as it seems... It's just about getting
started and doing it slowly and listening to your body and
needs as you heal. We all know Lyme and co's can be
tricky, but the bee's are more than affordable and give
results !!
Feel
free to reach out if you need some questions asked...
Those... Like Ellie Lobel, Anna Lisa, and Jennifer Lanett
and many other bee venom pioneers helped me tremendously to
get the courage and wisdom to
begin.
Good
luck and hope you are feeling
better

Thanks for the
replies everyone :) What a great community there is here,
I'm really grateful for it.
Do you have any more info on the bee venom therapy? Like
where I would order it from or a page with some advice and /
or how it works?
I cannot afford that kind of money for chiropractors
unfortunately. I can't even afford $30/visit for the
acupuncture school I go to. I'm living on disability
SSDI which is very, very little. It really makes me wonder
what all the Lyme sufferers out there without money are
doing to manage. I bet many, many people don't get
diagnosed.
Anyway, gonna keep resting here and make an appointment with
the MD. Gonna try acupuncture too if I can make it over
there. Fortunately a couple friends came by this weekend
to play video games and take my mind off things :)

Hello
Zakk,
I haven't tried it yet but I am intending on
trying Bee Venom Therapy shortly. It is especially
effective
for joint pain. Many people cure arthritis with it. A
comprehensive protocol for Lyme & Cos has been
developed
that is very cheap to do at home on your own (like $50 a
month or less.) Several people in this group are doing it
with great results. It's a great option for those of us
who are too broke for LLMDs.
All the best for your healing!

Hey
folks,
I'm reaching out here cause I'm kind of at a loss
what to do. I've had lyme sympoms and a (mostly)
positive IGM test since 2009 and have been managing pretty
well (can't afford treatment) with my symptoms. The
knee pain stuff I'm used to, and while it keeps me from
walking usually (I use a wheelchair) I can go to the
bathroom and stand for brief periods of time and the pain
is
bearable if I don't "overdo it"
Well, I definitely "overdid it" by going out too
much 3 weeks ago. I was really bad to myself and even
took
some pain killers to keep going out to some shows I wanted
to see. Super stupid.
Now my knee has been feeling like it is dislocated or
something ever since. I've barely been able to leave
me house at all on my electric wheelchair even, and the
pain
is something horrendous. It's shooting / stabbing
pain
and I cannot bear weight on it (crawling to the bathroom
and
stuff right now). any sort of pushing or bending on my
knee cap hurts too, like sleeping sideways or sitting up on
my knees (which is making crawling even harder).
I'm thinking I should finally go see my regular (non
lyme) doctor, who is usually an idiot, but will order me
tests when I want. He doesn't believe in Lyme so I
don't really go there with him. But maybe I can get
an
x-ray or something? I dunno. I have Medicare / Medi-cal
so
my options are limited.
Anybody else experience this? I was waiting for it to go
away with time and rest (or die down a little) but I'm
concerned that that isn't happening.

Hi
Laila,
I'm sorry I wasn't able to come to the
meeting last night! I'm having a difficult time
getting
rid of marcons and sure wish I had been there to hear
more
about your experience. Did you clear it with one of these
lights? I would love to find out more!
