HI Guys,

Its time for another partner email. There are some really great events coming up in the next few weeks, if you are interested in some pizza and coding tonight there is the London Code Dojo. Otherwise there are some great events coming up like the developer session tomorrow evening and Devoxx UK next week.

Here’s what’s going on:

Monday 18th March - David Pollak: The Grand Unification
Yep, @dpp's got his fingers in a lot of pies... he founded the Lift web framework project, he founded the Hoisted content management project and its commercial side, Telegram, and he founded the Visi language project... but how do these projects fit together?
Come join David for a night of demo of all three projects and a clear description of how they fit together, and you might even see Visi running inside a Lift app..

Monday 18th March - London Code Dojo 20
We're a bunch of software developers that love to code, play, learn, improve and eat pizza! Every month we meet up in order to practice code katas, clean code, software craftsmanship, pair programming, Test-Driven Development and learn from each other for an hour or two. Food and drinks are provided.

Tuesday 19th March - The London Developer Sessions
You absolutely have to get to this event - it's the best place to come, drink beer and just socialise with other developers. Talk about projects you're working on, problems your facing, advise a grad or two or just come to discuss anything you like. It's a great chance to meet first time LJC members as well as seasoned professionals. Ged will be there with a few LJC Book club members. The RecWorks crew will be there to give any career advice as well as a few Adopt a JSR advocates to help explain how you can get involved. Really what reason do you have not to come along?

Tuesday 19th March - March 2013 - Team Transformation for Continuous Delivery: Chris O'Dell, 7digital
An essential part of Continuous Delivery is collaboration within and between teams. Jez Humble and David Farley believe that cross-functional teams are crucial for CD, because the complexity of the whole system and speed with which changes need to be made mean that the traditional silos of "Ops", "Release", "Dev", etc. are a barrier to effective software delivery..

Thursday 21st March - What do you mean, backwards compatibility?
Presented by Trisha Gee.
The Java driver for MongoDB is the most... mature... of the NoSQL database’s drivers. It was designed without some of the modern Java features we now take for granted (generics, I’m looking at you), and is the sort of API that might be much easier with the eagerly anticipated lambdas in Java 8..
