I LOVE THE BAND, LITTLE MAN, my favorite local band I discovered shortly after moving here, having a desire to seek them out after reading the great article about Best Band of 2007 in City Pages, and they remain my fave even with all of the new-to-me, great bands I?ve now seen in this music city(ies). Chris Pericelli is a rock star with on-stage charisma abound ? I really enjoy the 12-string slide guitar he plays as well. Excellent musicianship so anyone who digs rock music would enjoy it; they?re definitely a band to check out live, and I love Turf Club, a perfect place to catch them. If you dig the Kinks, Bowie, T-Rex, Big Star, The Beatles, Supergrass, Pop Levi, etc. you?ll especially love this show.

Also, great they?re playing with Backyard Tire Fire, a band I discovered after really digging a BTF track on one of my Paste Magazine subscription?s compilations this year. I liked the following descriptions of the music: ?a stunning mix of Uncle Tupelo?s alt.country soul and Pavement's guitar freak-outs? and ?a drunkenly angry Tom Petty crawling out of a Florida swamp.?

The evening starts out with Twin Cities? own country rock band, Rhinestone Diplomats. http://www.myspace.com/rhinestonediplomats
