I'm sorry to be a wet blanket, but while the logo is attractive, it looks to me like Rocky Mountain Freethinkers, or maybe Alps or Himalayan Freethinkers, rather than the Nittany Freethinkers.  "Nitttany", after all, means "big hill" rather than a high, craggy mountain.

And I'm sorry to say I don't care much for the face.  To me, it clutters the logo.  If the face is retained, might there be another way to do it?

I feel crummy, because here we have an artist making an effort to produce something nice, and here I am being critical.  And indeed it is nice, very nice.  If we were out west I'd say Go for it!

A possible problem could be looking too much like the hospital logo with the gentle curve and ball.  If the craggy peaks were rounded into one smooth hill, care would have to be taken to not accidentally duplicate the Mount Nittany logo.  Of course there's no little ball, there's the nice big semicircle which looks really good.

My apologies for being critical, but I didn't want to be dishonest.
