About us
Established in 2009, we are a dynamic group of professionals that view State College as a great place to call home. It's no secret that State College is a transient town. We understand it can be difficult to socialize and feel close to the community. SCYP creates a welcoming environment for all young professionals. We may be a group young professionals, but at heart this is a organization to socialize. Our members are typically between the ages of 22 and 45, but we do not have an age requirement. If you are young at heart and have a passion for our area, you're welcome...no encouraged...to join!

No matter what brings you to the State College area, we are one community. At SCYP, we believe in being active and involved in making our community a better place. We volunteer and fundraise with a passion and energy for everyone living in Happy Valley.
Work
Everyoneโs favorite subject! Chances are you might have moved to State College for a new job or potentially graduate school (thatโs work, right?) We get it. We work here, too! SCYP provides a year-round forum for young professionals to connect, collaborate, and learn from each other. No matter your profession, together we build a foundation upon which State College can build its future.

Life canโt be all work โ We have some fun along! State College has an abundance of opportunities to kick back, relax, and have fun. Whether you are settling down or passing through, we may be colleagues and neighbors, but most of all, we are friends.Whether itโs on the softball field, at a happy hour, or volunteering, SCYP offers events to meet new people and make new friends.

Pickles Tap Room is hosting trivia, so join us for a fun night! This trivia is run by Pickleโs, but SCYP board members will be arriving early to reserve seats. There will NOT be a check-in table, but weโll let you know where we are in the event discussion.

August SCYP Social
Cafe 210, 210 West College Ave, State College, PA, USSoak up the last stretch of summer with SCYP on one of downtown State College's best patios! State College Young Professionals is hosting our August SCYP Social Wednesday August 5th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Cafe 210 West. In the event of bad weather, we will hold it inside.
SCYP Social presents you the chance to meet new people, catch up with friends, and hear about all the SCYP events we have planned to cap off you summer. Shared appetizers will be provided using your entry fees/membership dues. Bring your friends and co-workers with you! We see ya there!
Not a member? Just want to check us out for a night? Stop on by! Non-members may attend SCYP Social for $8. There you'll get a chance to meet with current members to see what SCYP is all about. By the end of the social if you would like to become a member, your entry fee will go towards your membership.
