About us
Established in 2009, we are a dynamic group of professionals that view State College as a great place to call home. It's no secret that State College is a transient town. We understand it can be difficult to socialize and feel close to the community. SCYP creates a welcoming environment for all young professionals. We may be a group young professionals, but at heart this is a organization to socialize. Our members are typically between the ages of 22 and 45, but we do not have an age requirement. If you are young at heart and have a passion for our area, you're welcome...no encouraged...to join!

No matter what brings you to the State College area, we are one community. At SCYP, we believe in being active and involved in making our community a better place. We volunteer and fundraise with a passion and energy for everyone living in Happy Valley.
Work
Everyone’s favorite subject! Chances are you might have moved to State College for a new job or potentially graduate school (that’s work, right?) We get it. We work here, too! SCYP provides a year-round forum for young professionals to connect, collaborate, and learn from each other. No matter your profession, together we build a foundation upon which State College can build its future.
Play
Life can’t be all work – We have some fun along! State College has an abundance of opportunities to kick back, relax, and have fun. Whether you are settling down or passing through, we may be colleagues and neighbors, but most of all, we are friends.Whether it’s on the softball field, at a happy hour, or volunteering, SCYP offers events to meet new people and make new friends.

SCYP Volunteer: DelGrosso's Kids' Day
WPSU Penn State, 100 Innovation Blvd, State College, PA, USVolunteer to help the local Public Media run their Kid’s Day event and earn a free park day pass and lots of Delgrosso’s sauce.
WPSU, the Public Media Station for Centre County, is running their annual Kids’ Day at Delgrosso’s Park and SCYP will be joining this year with some volunteers. We’ll be helping with setup and running activity tables. Opportunities will range from just supervising a bubble blowing station to even wearing the Daniel Tiger mascot costume if you’re interested.
Activities will be outdoors under tents, and water will be provided throughout the day to avoid the weather. Delgrosso’s will be providing a pizza lunch around noon.
All volunteers will receive: 1 free day pass to Delgrosso’s Amusement and Water Park, 1 commemorative WPSU/Delgrosso’s Pizza Sauce, and a box containing a variety of Delgrosso’s Sauces (2 Pasta Sauces, 2 Pizza Sauces and a Sloppy Joe Sauce).
Current Carpool has 5 open seats, but we can look into another carpool if there are more volunteers.

Carpool Meetup: WPSU Station Parking Lot, 100 Innovation Blvd, University Park, PA 16802Date/Time: Saturday, June 13th. Event runs 11AM-3PM. Carpool leaving WPSU Station a bit after 9AM and returning by 4PM. Split Morning/Afternoon Shifts available if not carpooling

Picnic and Kickball Game
Tom Tudek Memorial Park, 598 W Aaron Dr, State College, PA, USJoin us for a Summer Potluck Picnic on Saturday, June 27, from 1:00–4:00 PM at Tom Tudek Park!
We'll be gathering at Pavilion 3 for an afternoon of great food, games, and community. SCYP will provide hot dogs and bottled water, and attendees are encouraged to bring a favorite dish, snack, or dessert to share. Please sign up here to let everyone know what you're bringing:
