Stephen Dahl

Stephen Dahl joined Legal Aid Center in 2012 as an attorney in the Children’s Attorneys Project after 16 years as justice of the peace in North Las Vegas. Prior to his election, he spent 6
½ years as team chief over the death penalty litigation unit of the Clark County Public Defender’s Office. He has been licensed to practice law in Nevada since 1984. Steve has served as president of the Nevada Judges Association and the Clark County Bar Association. He also served as president of the Eighth Judicial District Pro Bono Foundation. He is active in the Trial by Peers (youth court) program and was named Judge of the Year for that program six times. (Learn more)

Gonzalez from the Family Division in Department F are to scheduled appear on the "Veterans In Politics" internet talk-show on Saturday - September 28, 2013 at 2pm PT.  Steve Sanson will be joined by Andre' Haynes and Lilly Babcock as a co-hosts.
The "Veterans In Politics" internet talk-show is hosted by Steve Sanson and co-hosted by Jim Jonas, Andre' Haynes and Lilly Babcock.  This show airs on every Saturday from 2-3pm PT / 5-8pm ET on VANR (VegasAllNetRadio.com).  Guests include elected officials, officers of major and minor political party groups and more.

Judge William B. Gonzales


Judge Gonzalez was appointed to the Eighth Judicial District Court Bench in March 2009 by Governor Jim Gibbons.  He currently presides over domestic and family related matters.  He is one of two Spanish-speaking Hispanic District Court Judges in the Family Division. Judge Gonzalez is a native of Southern California.  He and his wife, Ana Maria, have four children ages 13, 17, 23, and 25.  They have made Southern Nevada their home since 1997.  He attained his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Redlands University and Master of Business Administration in International Business from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.  Judge Gonzalez earned his Juris Doctorate from J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. Prior to taking the bench, Judge Gonzalez worked as an associate attorney for the law firm of Barker, Brown, Busby, Chrisman & Thomas, P.C.  During this time, he handled all types of personal injury, property, and other casualty cases relating to insurance defense litigation.  Later, Judge Gonzalez spent ten years as a Deputy Public Defender in the Clark County Public Defender’s Office.  He represented clients in a vast number of cases ranging from simple misdemeanors to murder.  During his last five years as a Deputy Public Defender, Judge Gonzalez represented over two thousand children in the juvenile justice system.  Many of these children struggled with substance abuse and serious mental health conditions.  Further, many of these children were victims of abuse and neglect themselves. Judge Gonzalez currently serves on the advisory board for the UNLV Boyd School of Law Legal Clinics.  He also served as the Vice-Chairman for the City of Las Vegas Housing Authority board from 2003 to 2007.  Judge Gonzalez has held a number of leadership positions for the past 13 years in the Boy Scouts of America troop 269.
