Hi Ili
Have you checked all the connection parameters in the wp-config.php?
Username and Password are the obvious ones by often overlooked is the host.
Naturally it shouldn't have changed in an Auto Upgrade but I'd be checking that first and foremost anyway.
So long as those details are correct this error just should not be triggered.
