What we're about

We are a group of ordinary people who come together two to three times a month to improve our public speaking and leadership skills.

Our aim is to empower individuals to become confident public speakers and leaders. Public Speaking is one of the hardest things for people to do, let alone become brilliant at. Our clubs provide an encouraging environment where members can develop their skills quickly and to a high standard.

Members develop their skills to the highest standard to:

- Deliver engaging, powerful presentations at work

- Give humorous or heartfelt speeches at personal events

- Become great leaders by gaining the skills to influence others

- Become stronger personalities by eliminating social fears

- Deal with more situations powerfully by responding effectively

This group consists of clubs serving Inner Brisbane and the CBD.

We are part of Toastmasters International, which is a non-profit educational corporation. Its mission is to improve communication and leaderships skills of its members and in general. Mainly, this works to 'improve public speaking skills' but there is also a potent leadership and management aspect to the organisation if you aspire to reach that level.

Keep an eye out for our sister group - Brisbane Northern Suburbs Public Speaking Meetup!

API Toastmaster Welcomes You!

Community Meeting Room, Brisbane City Council (Brisbane Square) Library in CBD

Next meeting October 12th @ 6:30 p.m. We are actively monitoring the rules of the library and are hopeful to soon be able to meet in person again but this session is planned to be on Zoom for now. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= This meeting will be online via Zoom and the link will be sent to all who RSVP to the event. Hope to see you online! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Welcome to API and thank you for giving us a read! You're interested in being a better speaker? You'd like to improve your conversational skills? You already know how to speak in front of a crowd but wouldn't mind a chance to keep your talents from getting rusty? Toastmasters has the thing you are looking for! Please be our guest and experience how the meetings are run to see if it's for you. Most guests are surprised to learn that these meetings are NOT just random events but structured activities following an agenda with objectives and constructive feedback to help everyone at the meeting learn more about communication and even just about themselves. This club has been going strong for 40 years through the support and interest of people just like yourself. Also, note that the club uses Meetup as a supplement to our social media campaign and most of our regular members do not RSVP to this group's list. Typically we have about 10-15 members at the meeting plus guests. So, whichever number of people have confirmed their attendance here, the actual meeting will have more people in attendance. If you have any questions please feel free to email us at [masked] or we'll just see you on Monday.
