Networking Events This Week

Friends,

( In truth, I didn't send last week's message to this group.  There wasn't a lot going on beyond the every-week events.  This week there are a few unique, non-weekly events this week, along with the familiar weekly events.)

Tomorrow, Tuesday at 8am till 10am, this SME event snuck up on me, “Lean Fundamentals for Manufacturers”:

I’m intrigued but 8am on Tuesday in San Ramon is unlikely to happen for me.  Sorry I didn’t get the word out on this earlier.

Also Tuesday morning, at 8:30, there’s the weekly Bio2device event held at the Sunnyvale Council Chambers.  Topic this week is:  “Creating Opportunities in the Life Sciences - Maintaining Self Employment in a Difficult Job Climate” – Speaker is Daniel E. Levy, Ph.D

Later at 1pm at the nearby Connect Center is Toastmatchers.  Think I signed up for “timer” this week.

Tuesday evening, a unique, non-weekly event, Medtech Frontiers presents  “Technology and Aging-in-Place”
6:30 - 8:30 pm, Triple Ring Technologies, 39655 Eureka Dr. Newark

Note this is a free event, but they want registration in advance. Note also this is not the monthly first Thursday event we’re accustomed to.

I’m straddling the fence on this one. If anyone here is going LMK, that may tip the scales for me.

Wednesday morning at 11:30, at TI Auditorium (Bldg E), 2900 Semiconductor Drive, Santa Clara Ca, IEEE VTS presents: “Automated Transit Networks” with Speaker Eugene Nishinaga.  Not clear from the website how to RSVP, but I expect I will check this one out, it will be the first time for me.

Wednesday afternoon 3:30pm - 7:00pm CSIX Connect invites you to attend their upcoming HR Panel, featuring staff and contract recruiters from SanDisk, Kforce, Tesla Motors, Twitter and several other Bay Area employers.

I signed up.  Earlier I may have mistakenly stated there was a conflicting ASQ Northern California Biomedical Discussion group event the same evening.  In truth that will be in September.

Thursday there will be the weekly Eco Green Group meeting at 8am in Saratoga.  At the time of this writing their topic this week is not on their website:

Later at the same venue at 10:15 there is Csix, featuring this week K.C Anderson presenting: “Your Personal Brand: Discovering and Presenting Your Talents”

Friday there is Post-Pro-Match at Connect starting at 9:30am.

Saturday there is no CAM

Recap:

Usually I attend all the events noted here, unless I state otherwise.  However last week I felt ill in the morning ( beware aging hotdogs ) and missed Bio2Device, though I did get to Toastmatchers which was especially good.  Wednesday I did attend the Wednesday car show, actually two from my LinkedIn showed up and I added a third excellent contact via my showing up.  Pics here:

Thursday there’s always a conflict for me between Csix and a weekly lunch my pals from my former workplace put on.  Although I’d actually sat down at Csix, it just felt like I’d neglected the other group too long and I left.  Didn’t mean anything by it other than I changed my mind.  The other event turned out very good, both in terms of venue and who showed up. Perhaps the work of the "unseen hand".
Last time I didn’t have a link to pics from the Electric Car meeting, those are here:

Thanks,

Guy D.
