All genders, races, orientations, ages, lifestyles, all are welcome. Let's set course with beauty, style and joy for all in my favorite NYC museum The Metropolitan Museum of Art. 
Post your 2017 vision, hopes, dreams and or intention. Come celebrate it with a Met Gala for the People. Dress up to welcome your year and celebrate each other. Attire is as fancy, simple, outlandish, creative as you desire. Dress how you would like to welcome your new year. Come with friends and or meet new ones.

1:30pm     Free Opera: Hänsel und Gretel Free

The New York Opera Forum will present a concert version of Hänsel und Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck. Musical Director, Richard Nechamkin.
The Library for the Performing Arts is proud to offer free admission to this program on a first come, first served basis.

2:30pm-5:00pm     Orange Is The New President: A Non-Profit Political Arts Showcase"     $25

Orange Is The New President" is a peaceful protest against Trump's presidency through artistic expression! This non-profit show (100% of proceeds donated to Planned Parenthood and The Trevor Project) is a showcase of original political one acts, sketch comedy, music, spoken word, and dance.

5:00pm-8:15pm     Pay What You Wish at the Guggenheim Museum Free

Join us for a Pay What you Wish day at New York's Guggenheim Museum. We will have the please of seeing their permanent and new exhibition.

5:00pm-7:00pm     Hudson River Park Walk Free

Friends, let's take a nice walk together at Hudson River Park, this is my favorite place in New York City. We will elect one person to lead the walk going on a path that is safe and has a lot of people. Then return to the starting point after about one hour.

5:30p-8:00pm     Times Square Night Photography Workshop $

This photography workshop takes place mostly at Times Square; you will better understand issues related to taking pictures in low light conditions (ie. night photography). You will learn how flash and long exposure works and how to use a combination of both long exposure and flash to create an image. 

7:00pm     McEnroe, Roddick, Courier, Black, and MORE Tennis Match $

Tennis champions John McEnroe, Andy Roddick, Jim Courier, and James Blake will compete in the PowerShares QQQ Cup on Saturday, January 7 at Barclays Center. This event will be the first-ever tennis event played at Barclays Center and will be the 2016 PowerShares Series finale. 

7:30pm     Ensemble YOU (you pick the music played!) Free

Audience Orchestra’ is an interactive experiment developed by the contemporary Estonian musical group Ensemble U:. The listeners of the event gain unusual power—they control how the concert develops, what music is played, and provide instant feedback.
