Who says neighborhood history can't be fun and funny?

History with humor is a format option that will be introduced tomorrow, December 4, 2011, at 3 PM in front of the blacksmith shop during the beautiful "A Colorado Christmas" event.

I'll introduce you to a humorous family-oriented format for the story of Agnes Riddle.  This will be your first opportunity to let us know whether this is a format you would enjoy as a partner in planning of the 2012 Agnes Riddle Neighborhood History Walk.  Together we may come up with lots of wonderful format ideas.

You can RSVP online on Meetup with either the:

Topic-Talk Walks (TTWalks) group - http://www.meetup.com/TTWalks/events/42907242/

or the

What's an example of one History with Humor format?

in our vivid imaginations, we could go with Peter, the clumsy history inspector, for a ride on George the time-machine history elevator.  When you tap into your imagination, you may discover as I did that this format could be very funny!!  What do you think?

I didn't come up with this idea myself, the idea started 3 days ago with my husband Richard Rew, and then grew through the guidance of the improv director, Tim Cress, during a performance in his Monkey Butler improv class.  The idea fermented in my mind, until I started writing the Agnes Riddle history in this format today.

Tomorrow we'll have our first TTWalks get-together to discover what format each of us would most enjoy for becoming community partners in planning the 2012 Agnes Riddle Neighborhood History Walk.

Would you enjoy being one of possibly one hundred contributors to a humorously improvised written and/or verbal story in preparation for this 2012 walk?  Our story connections could be improvised to reveal referenced historical facts along our journey in George the historical elevator, with Peter the clumsy history inspector.

As we build in community partners, we'll discover what format we would all most enjoy.

Hope to see you tomorrow at this beautiful annual "A Colorado Christmas" event and "Living History Day" at the Four Mile Historic Park.

Fran
