We don't generally bring back guests we've had before. However, this month we are bringing Josh Dorkin back. He exiting his company last year and he can chat about his journey cradle to grave, which is compelling.
Josh Dorkin is the founder, board member, and former CEO of BiggerPockets. He bootstrapped his idea for helping democratize the real estate investing information space into a hugely successful multimedia empire, helping the financial lives of millions of people through the web platform, podcast, videos, and publishing business. After 14 years, he left his role of CEO in concert with a recapitalization of the business through private equity partners, McCarthy Capital.
As the host of the BiggerPockets Podcast, he was able to help the show grow to become one of the tops in business, with over 70 million downloads. He also created the publishing business, BiggerPockets Publishing, one of the most successful independent publishers with over 14 titles distributed across stores and libraries nationally with millions in sales.
In the fall of 2018, Josh released his first book as an author, How to Invest in Real Estate, alongside his co-author, Brandon Turner, and the book has remained one of the top sellers in the real estate category since launch.
Josh is currently seeking out opportunities to continue to speak on entrepreneurship and happiness, to advise other entrepreneurs and startups, and to invest in businesses that he finds interesting. He spends his time with his three girls and exploring new challenges and adventures.
