Nancy Doucette has reserved site #124 at Jonathan Dickinson State Park for a weekend of fun activities.
You will need to make your own reservations for a campsite by using the www.reserveamerica.com website or by calling the Park at [masked]. By calling the Park directly, they may know of cancellations. This Meet-up site requires a start time, so I put 3pm but you can get to the park on Friday when you can, just be sure it is before the Park's gates are locked for the night. (Registered campers are given the gate's code.) Nancy plans on having the group eat at a local seafood restaurant on Friday night. (So if you have to work Friday, you can relax and have someone else cook your dinner.) On Saturday, The group will paddle the length of the Loxahatchee River from the put-in at Riverbend Park on Indiantown Road to the take-out at Jonathan Dickinson State Park. Trapper Nelson's homesite is along the river and is usually a good place to stop for lunch and maybe catch a Ranger Guided tour of the site. This paddle could be about 5-6 hours long, depending on the river and weather. (Always bring rain gear.) Saturday night may involve a group gathering at a campsite's fire. Ask Nancy for details if it's BYO supper or if it will be a group potluck. Sunday could be either a bike tour of J.D. or Riverbend Park or another kayak tour of the canoe trails in Riverbend Park or a morning hike. Nancy and the group will discuss Sunday's activities.
DO NOT RSVP TO THIS WEB SITE. NANCY WON'T BE CHECKING THIS SITE FOR YOUR RESERVATIONS. YOU NEED TO CALL NANCY TO LET HER KNOW IF YOU PLAN TO JOIN THE GROUP. NANCY DOUCETTE'S PHONE NUMBER IS[masked] AND HER EMAIL IS [address removed]
