IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Senior Linux Systems and Support Analyst on behalf of a client located in the heart of downtown Vancouver with excellent access to public transportation. Reporting to the Network Operations Center Manager, the Senior Linux Systems and Support Analyst will work as part of a highly skilled team and will own the customer support experience for a well-established, thriving and dynamic web technology company offering web consulting, development, hosting and applications. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as first line support for a fully managed hosting environment with a diverse customer base ranging from enterprise environments to small-medium sized business
Work closely with a highly technical team of developers and system administrators to resolve support issues
Will take ownership of the “customer experience” which will also include the development of customer support best practices
Work directly with customers on diagnosing and resolving support issues
Work with systems internally to enhance the customer experience and to identify trends in outages/alerts as well as put in place new systems to reduce volume of alerts

QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-secondary education in Computer Science or Engineering
Must have a strong background providing systems support within a Linux environment
Strong familiarity with LAMP stack environment
Minimum 3 years experience providing “above and beyond” support to customers, preferably in a services oriented environment
Exceptional troubleshooting skills
Demonstrated customer centric attitude, strive for excellent quality and pay close attention to detail when responding to customer issues
Must possess a genuine passion for problem solving; issue identification and resolution
A team player with a disciplined, self-directed, mature and professional approach to work
Excellent communication skills is essential, both verbal and written
Strong ability to convey technical issues in non-technical terms
Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and a strong spirit of innovation
