Legal Tech Open Mic by Evolve Law, Above the Law and Vancouver Legal Hackers
Join the Vancouver Legal Hackers Meetup along with Mary Juetten of Evolve Law for a unique event sponsored by Evolve Law (http://evolvelawnow.com/) and Above the Law (https://abovethelaw.com/). The Meetup is open to all--so invite your friends! We will have networking, appetizers, beer and wine, followed by an open mic session for Legal Hackers, who, in turn, will talk on a subject in the area of legal tech that interests them or that they have a question for the group about. Come prepared to speak your mind!

Interested in the future of legal services, legal education and legal technology? The legal industry is changing rapidly and these changes present exciting opportunities and daunting challenges for industry members. We'll meet once a month to explore new ideas and build a thriving legal hacking community in Vancouver.

Legal Hackers is a global movement of lawyers, policymakers, technologists, and academics who explore and develop creative solutions to some of the most pressing issues at the intersection of law and technology. Through local meetups, hackathons, and workshops, Legal Hackers spot issues and opportunities where technology can improve and inform the practice of law and where law, legal practice, and policy can adapt to rapidly changing technology.

What is legal hacking? Read Dan Lear's ABA article (http://www.americanbar.org/content/newsletter/publications/law_practice_today_home/lpt-archives/2014/january14/hacking-the-law.html) on the legal hacking movement.
