Fortunately all of the meetup sites are open to every one. It doesn't matter if you are a member of a hiking meetup, biking meetup, card playing meetup or vegan meetup, all interested people are welcome.
For the Vegan Meetup we are here to bring dinners, potlucks and lectures to our area and we have various events throughout the entire north eastern Ohio area to attend. Some of the meetups are at restaurants, colleges, comedy clubs, churches, private homes, parks, businesses, fitness centers, doctors' offices, (recently the NY Farm Sanctuary for the Hoe Down so we've gone further than our own local area) and Greenhouses!!!
We have vegans, non-vegans, vegetarians, non-vegetarians and people who are just wanting to learn more and at least have a place to go to meet more members and
learn about and eat vegan food. We've have members who bring their carnivore family member or friend so they can experience the event. Not everyone is vegan. We welcome everyone.
We do not discriminate by height (if it was under 5 foot, I'd be eliminated), weight, sex, age, political choices, culture, race, have pets, do not have pets, married with children, married without children, single, divorced, widowed or widower, involved with someone, not-involved, non-married, sick or not sick, on medicine or not on medicine, seeing a doctor, not seeing a doctor, dying or not dying, religious or non-religious choices. We welcome everyone.
Whatever path you are on, if you are interested in learning more and experiencing a vegan lifestyle, you are welcome. There is a lot of diversity and that is to be totally cherished amongst all of us. I know that I truly appreciate the wide range that we all come from and are traveling on.
There is room for everyone.
Hope the message is clear enough for everyone to feel very welcome and comfortable with attending and to be involved in the Vegan Meetup group.
With all sincerity,
Sandie

Amen, Ellie ! All religions must embrace
compassion for ALL, and the animals will be thankful, the sooner they do.
Jack
Very little of the great cruelty shown by men can really be
attributed to cruel instinct. Most of it comes from thoughtlessness or
inherited habit. The roots of cruelty, therefore, are not so much strong
as widespread. But the time must come when inhumanity protected by custom
and thoughtlessness will succumb before humanity championed by thought.
Let us work that this time may come. ~Albert Schweitzer

I am not religious at all but I don't find
it offensive that there is a Christian group that promotes veganism. If
this will convince people of that persuasion not eat animals and exploit them
then that is a good thing. I'm sure the animals wouldn't give a hoot what
religious beliefs are behind saving their lives.

Dear
mr Mossman,
this message message looks intented to be divisive from you. if
it we're nt for religion, we all woul'nt be here. look at what has happened
since they kicked God out of the schools. Veganism brings Gods creation to life
to realisation and religion can bring us to veganism the futher you go into it.
People sure come together and turn to God when disaster hits. Theres no need to
be dissgruntled at steve nor sandy, (unless one is possested...), as its
simply the title of the association. They are really, really , good ,
sincere people , like you have in you. which in a sence is the sprit of Christ.
which is so needed in bringing true peace and happiness. this is what people
need in comming together.
I hope you are doing well. sincerily, nicholas

I don't
like this
and I told
Steven when he sent it to me
I find it to be divisive
I am a
firm believer in keeping religion out of all aspects of life where we want
people to come together veganism is one such
aspect

We
are looking for African-American and Latino-American people to provide a
short segment for a Christian Vegetarian Association video. Participants
need not be Christian – we’d like to see some comments in the video having
religious content and we’d like to see other comments that are not
religious. It is important that the video show that veganism/vegetarianism
is enjoyed by people of a range of ethnicities. Please contact Steve Kaufman
at [address removed] if you can help.
Thank you. --
