Re: [alternativeenergy-146] Final GE ecomagination newsletter: How to stay involved!

Joshua,

So what you are saying is that they are no longer a sponsor, correct?

I know that it does not reflect on us but I was really surprised that they never said directly that they were not going to be a sponsor anymore.

It was a really  poorly written communication, in my opinion.  I mean, it's fine if they aren't sponsoring us anymore but by being so unclear, it leaves the impression that the group DID do something wrong.

I am sure a lot of other folks got that impression as well.

Dave

No reflection on our group.  It was a limited time campaign by GE.

Did I miss something or is GE trying to say (without saying it) that it is withdrawing it's sponsorship of the Alt Energy Meetup group?

How to stay involved with ecomagination!

GEECO

Hi Organizers,

Thank you for being a part of the GE ecomagination Challenge! Your local participation has made a global difference in the mission to rethink the energy grid and GE is proud of the role Meetups played in this process. They're grateful for being included in your community over the past few months and thank you for the support of this important initiative!

Nearly 120,000 Meetup members from across the country got involved in the first phase of GE's ecomagination Challenge by attending GE sponsored events, local Meetups and voting or submitting to the challenge online. All of these efforts made an invaluable contribution to the success of the ecomagination Challenge, so feel free to give yourselves a round of applause at your next Meetup! Your participation made a difference.

Look for more news about the ecomagination Challenge in the near future, plus GE is looking forward to hearing more from you online at ecomagination.com , or on Twitter, Facebook , YouTube and foursquare. (Don't think goodbye; think I'll see you later).

At ecomagination.com , you can keep up with the latest innovative clean technology news and GE's cutting-edge projects, such as:

  • ecomagination Photo Project : You turn your photos of wind, water and light into real donations for communities in need.

  • Data Visualization : GE is collaborating with leading designers to take what can often be intimidating amounts of scientific data and turn it into useable information that can make an impact on people's lives.

  • ecomagination Series : See the inside story of how GE is helping find, fund, and develop innovative technologies that are not only good for business, but also for people and the environment.

The bottom line: GE's commitment accelerating development and deployment of clean energy technology through the ecomagination Challenge does not end here. We hope you'll keep connected and that you'll stay tuned to hear what we've got coming up next!

If you have any questions about this sponsorship, just let us know by replying to this email.

Thanks for using Meetup!
