The recent cryptocurrency boom and the blockchain technology behind it is becoming hard to ignore. This new technology is breaking historical thresholds at an unprecedented rate and we've got questions. Tech in Motion will be featuring a panel of cryptocurrency experts who will discuss the future of a non-physical currency and it's effect on a physical market. Previously he taught blockchain technology at MIT and helped create and launch Republic Wireless, a WiFi / cellular hybrid smartphone service. James Seibel, CTO, Airfox (https://www.linkedin.com/in/seibeljames/) James is CTO at Airfox, where he leads product development of Ethereum-based decentralized mobile financial products for unbanked consumers in emerging markets. He previously worked at Lola Travel, and was head of engineering at Apperian, where he built crypto mobile SDK's for government agencies. James earned his master's degree in computer science from Boston University, and lives in Jamaica Plain with his wife and three cats. Gregory Raiz, Founder, Raizlabs (https://www.linkedin.com/in/graiz/) Gregory Raiz graduated from Tufts University and got his start as a Program Manager at Microsoft on Windows XP. In 2003, Greg founded Raizlabs with a vision to improve lives through design and technology. Over the last decade, the company has grown substantially and is viewed as a leader in the Boston and San Francisco technology, web, and mobile communities. Beyond helping start Raizlabs, AltConf, and DrinksOnTap, Greg actively speaks at events and blogs on entrepreneurship, innovation, and new technology. Most recently, Greg published this beginner's guide to bitcoin which he will speak to at Tech in Motion's Tech Talk! (http://bit.ly/2DUiOJv) In 2017, Greg joined Rightpoint’s Leadership Team as Chief Innovation Officer through the acquisition of Raizlabs. Greg is based in Boston working with companies to help them digitally transform their businesses using design and innovative thinking. MODERATOR: Lara Lyberg, Business Strategist - Blockchain, John Hancock, Lab of Forward Thinking (https://www.linkedin.com/in/laralyberg/) Lara focuses on the overall product roadmap, long- and short-term strategy and direction for blockchain technology within Manulife / John Hancock's investment and insurance businesses globally. Previously, she was a Client Relationship Manager for clean energy investments at Seamans Capital Management, LLC. Lara was also previously an Equity Product Manager for State Street Global Markets, LLC focusing on S&P 500 and retail 401(k) clients. She holds a MBA and M.S. in Finance from Boston College Carroll School of Management and a B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University Questrom School of Business.
