I do agree with Dave but also appreciate Cris` effort and initiative. Lately there hasn`t been any activity in this group and he`s trying to start something.

Thanks Cris for your initiative.

Good call, Dave

As someone who has worked in the energy conservation and renewable energy fields for over 30 years (I am a physicist), I strongly object to including oil and gas technologies - whether conventional or non-conventional - in teh category of alternative energies.

These are the fuel sources that have led us to the edge of the climate change cliff; it is extremely unlikely that we are going to be able to do any sort of carbon sequestration scheme that will work reliably enough and on a scale that will allow us to continue to use these fuel sources.

Thank you,

Subject: [alternativeenergy-146] Apply to Pitch by Friday Aug 17th - Future Energy Boston

Greetings Alternative Energy Supporters

My organization Ultra Light Startups, is hosting it's third Future Energy conference in Boston on Monday, September 10th and I would like to formally attend or apply to pitch.

This conference, with Royal Dutch Shell as the lead sponsor, will feature 8 energy startups and research projects presenting to a panel of prominent venture capital investors including Rockport Capital, Earthrise Capital, Shell International (lead sponsor of Future Energy), New Enterprise Associates, Batelle Ventures, Clean Energy Venture Group, Black Coral Capital, Terawatt Ventures, and more.  Targeted sectors include:

- Conventional oil and gas technology (exploration, recovery, and extraction)
- Non-conventional oil and gas technology
- Alternative and renewable energy (solar, wind, hydrogen, biofuels, geothermal, etc.)
- Renewable and bio-based chemicals
- Mobility / smart mobility
- Energy efficiency / smart grid
- Energy finance and trading technologies

Since 2008, over 40 companies presenting at Ultra Light Startups events have raised venture capital and over 140 have raised angel funding.  In addition, Future Energy events offer partnership, business development, and press opportunities to presenters.

FYI, applications to present at this Future Energy Boston event are due by Friday, August 17th (see link).

Please feel free to contact me via email at [address removed] with questions.  There is no fee to apply to pitch.

Hope to see you there!

Best Regards,
Cris De Luca

The next Ultra Light Boston event is:
Future Energy - Investor Feedback Forum - Monday, Sep 10th at 6:30pm EST
