Recently I was searching the web looking for a foreign language school for my daughter. Everywhere you turn these days it is important to know a second language, especially Spanish. Anyway, I had heard that there was a school locally that specialized in this. What I found out was that there is an academy, it is in KC, MO and it is a part of the Kansas City Public School system. If you do not belong to the district, you can not enroll your child. Ok, so what about Kansas? Not one charter, magnet, public or private school in the Johnson County School district! Well, I am not happy, so what I am looking for is anyone that has any experience working for the public school system or working in education anywhere, or if you are a teacher or x-educator or know someone who is, and if you would be interested in talking about starting a private foreign language academy here in JoCo. From what I have researched it is about a 2 year process and i think it would be well received in JoCo. Anyway, if you would be interested in being a founder of a foreign language academy here in JoCo, let me know, you don't even have to be an educator, just interested. What a great way to create jobs for teachers here too since so many schools are closing. Right now I am looking for a think tank so even if you are completely opposed, or pessimistic, your thoughts would be appreciated.
Once I get a group interested we will get together to talk about it.
