Welcome to Midwest Hiking and Adventures! Everyone is welcome in this group as well as all skill levels. We will do things locally as well as regionally. We will focus primarily on hiking but will throw in other adventures from time to time, such as a day trip or weekend getaway.
*VERY IMPORTANT*
1. Because of Covid-19 we do require all participants to wear masks during events.
2. Actively manage your RSVP's. Because of smaller events due to Covid, we have large waiting lists. Check the event 48 hours before and several times the day of to to see if you've moved to the 'going' list! If you say you'll attend and don't show for an event, then hosts will mark you as a 'no show' and have the right to move you to the 'not going' list on their next event. Thank you for being respectful to everyone in the community.
3. Be advised that this is not a dating group. Sometimes people meet and there is a connection and start dating. That's great. Not a problem. But, do not join this group looking for a date and do not message and harass members in hopes of a date. Use common sense here. We want everyone to be able to feel comfortable joining the group and attending scheduled events without fear. If you feel uncomfortable with someone's behavior at an event, please privately let your host know.
4. This group requires that your profile has a photo to join. The majority do but there are some that don't. Please use a photo of YOU and keep a photo of yourself on your profile even after joining. We want to know who you are. I get it. You want privacy or have reasons for not putting a photo of yourself on your profile. Consider this. What would it be like if NO ONE used a photo of themselves for their profile. Don't YOU want to know who you're attending events with?

By joining Midwest Hiking and Adventure, I understand that during my participation in any event or activity organized by Midwest Hiking and Adventure, I may be exposed to risks including, but not limited to, the dangers of serious personal injury, property damage, and death ("Injuries and Damages"). I agree to WAIVE, DISCHARGE CLAIMS, AND RELEASE FROM LIABILITY Midwest Hiking and Adventure, its organizers, event hosts and leaders from any and all liability on account of, or in any way resulting from injuries and Damages, in any way connected with the activity. I further agree to Hold Harmless Midwest Hiking and Adventure and leaders from any claims, damages, injuries or losses caused by my own negligence while a participant on the activity. I understand and intend that this assumption of risk and release is binding upon my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, and includes any minors accompanying me on the activity.
I have read this document in its entirety and I freely and voluntarily assume all risks of such Injuries and Damages and notwithstanding such risks, I agree to participate in the activity.
If I bring guests to participate in the event I take full responsibility of the guests and agree to all above terms and conditions.
