The Wisdom of Not Knowing: A Personal Journey from Hubris to Humility
This December's Topic Night will be led by our own Sandy Snook: Is there a battle (in your head or in our culture) between humility and hubris? This evening’s presentation will include references to Carl Jung, Richard Feynman, Anne Lamott, Jesus Christ, Carlos Castaneda, James Baldwin, astrology, and Neil deGrasse Tyson. Yeah, it will be weird. There will be music, stories and laughter centered around the role community plays in active learning – including personal revelations inspired by years of P&P interactions. Join the conversation! It’s always better when you are here (whoever you are). Sandy Snook is a lifelong learner who has been active in Greater KC’s nonprofit sector for longer than she cares to admit. She is an educator, community connector, and group facilitator who asks too many questions. ____________ Location Details: The address is 4049 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kansas City, MO. Here's the entrance to the building: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.0534401,-94.591942,3a,60y,63.83h,87.24t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1svNju-3s0ig7fmiAwiuPKFg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 Take the elevator up to the third floor and head to the open door opposite the elevator. The outside doors lock around 8pm. If you can't get in, call the number on the P&P sign taped to the door. Parking in Westport: https://westportkcmo.com/park/#weekend-night-parking Free parking close by is limited. The garage near Char Bar is easy, but usually costs $5. If you're joining us for more conversation at a restaurant afterward, be aware that Westport security sets up a perimeter around Pennsylvania Ave at about 10pm. So, be sure you park outside that perimeter, or move your car before they put up the barriers.

* Want to hear differing viewpoints in rational dialogue?
* Want deep discussion on issues that matter?
* Want to make friends across the aisle?

Come exploring with us at our next meeting of The Provocateurs. We meet every 2nd an 4th Friday of the month. We have no trouble being provocative — our only rule is that we give everyone a chance to talk and hear them with respect. Come to learn — and to give us a piece of your mind.
