RE: [animalrights-157] Puppy Mill Court Hearing - Wed. 7/23

From: Stephanie S.
Sent on: Monday, July 21, 2008, 12:17 PM

I would love nothing more than to attend this protest. My dog (aka my baby) was rescued from a puppy mill in the northern part of the lower peninsula in Michigan. Puppy mills are horrible places and I am very much against them. Molly had her sixth birthday yesterday.  I would love to bring her to the protest as proof that they animals can perceiver.  She was only three weeks old and had no teeth yet. At two and a half pounds she was infested with fleas and worms (two different kinds).  I finished weaning her and treated her like she was my own baby. Now we are inseparable. Even though puppy mills are one of the worst places in the world beautiful things can come from those horrible places. Molly is living proof of that.

Please read below:
*********************************************************
I received this info late but am forwarding this on to anyone who can participate regarding the 120 puppy mill pups that were confiscated 2 months ago from a puppy mill in Tarpon Springs. We need to show the court how we feel about puppy mills so Suncoast Animal League is asking if you can participate in a silent demonstration outside the courthouse downtown Clearwater. They are asking for you all to be there by 9 if possible. The Court hearing is at 10:30

***Please check the website [http://suncoastanimalleague.net/] before you go to see if by any chance they settled before e the hearing as not to make a trip unnecessarily.--Suncoast Animal League.

IT WOULD BE A SIN AND A TRAGEDY IF THESE PUPS GO BACK TO THE OWNER!  LOOK AT THE WEBSITE AND THE CONDITIONS.

I SAW THESE PUPS WHEN THEY FIRST CAME IN, BROWN TEETH, MOST MISSING, ONE WITH THE TEETH POINTED OUT( WHAT HE HAD LEFT), FREEZE WHEN YOU PICK THEM UP FROM NO SOCIALIZATION, AFRAID OF GRASS, CONSTANT SHAKING, SOME WALK LIKE OLD DOGS AND THEY ARE PUPS-THEIR LEGS ARE DEFORMED, DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PLAY WITH TOYS, MANY HAD TO BE SHAVED IN ORDER TO TREAT THEIR SKIN CONDITIONS, SOME PUT TO SLEEP  --look at the website.

If you can come let me know and I will let Suncoast know--if you are not sure and decide to come the last minute--great.

Following is the note from Carly who is organizing the demo:
the Custody hearing is set for 10:30 AM on Wed.
> 7/23. Some of the staff at a local company are going to be
> making a poster for each of the puppy mill pups with their
> photos and their medical problems. Their boss is letting
> them have some time from work to do this. Foster parents
> have been sending their photos and write ups in for the
> 7/26 fund raiser, so Annette has current photos for most of
> the pups. They want to plan a SILENT PROTEST - PICKET LINE
> before the hearing.
>
. We are going to try to get 100 people so we can get as many of the pups
> represented as possible. Everyone will get a sign for one
> of the pups.
>  If you plan to come, don't forget to come with a bottle
> of water and some sun screen for yourself.

Please pass this on to anyone ypu know who would like to help save these pups.
