A Casual Magic the Gathering Standard Tournament. The emphasis is community and fun. If you are looking for highly competitive decks and players please check out our Wednesday Standard Tournament. So feel free to try out that jank Vampire deck that is just super fun but not top tier. Each entry buys a Standard Legal Booster Pack and adds $1.50 to the Store Credit Prize Pool. Or you may opt to put all $5 in the prize pool and play in a additional store credit prize bracket. Players will play in a swiss tournament capped at 4 rounds for Store Credit and the month's FNM Foil Promo card. Prize payout will be based on standings and older promos will be handed up.
This all out war between Planeswalkers and Nicol Bolas is set to take place this month! With a Planeswalker in every pack expect to see interactions the likes of which few can predict. You'll experience the thrill of opening new cards for the first time, at an event filled with other Magic players who enjoy the game just as much as you. Everything you'll need to play will be provided as part of your entry fee - you simply show up and play! You'll build a 40-card minimum deck using the contents of a themed Prerelease pack. This play format is called "Sealed Deck." After you build your deck, you'll be randomly paired with another player for a best-two-of-three match. Each round, you'll report who won and be paired up with a new player. ENTRY FEE: $15 Prize Pool: Store Credit based on Attendance with the following payouts. 1st and 2nd Place and 1 Random Player with less than 9 players will receive Store Credit. With more than 8 players 1st through 3rd Place and 2 Random Players will receive Store Credit. T.O. : Luis Betancourt Player Cap: 14, You may sign up at the Store or on the Best Coast Pairings App. 48 hours prior to the event to secure your spot. We are aiming for round 1 to start at 1PM so please arrive prior to 12:30PM for the event. FORMAT: • Your army must consist of 2000 points or less. • Your army must be battle-forged. • You may use up to 3 detachments with the highest valued matched play detachment being your faction. If one or more are equal in points you must choose one. • Chess Clocks are in use throughout this event. • Matched Play 3 Round Swiss Pairing Tournament with 2 Hour 50 Minute Round Time. • ITC Champion's Missions V1.16 (Beta) will be used. • Missions will be selected at random by the T.O. before every round. • Current Beta, Imperium Nihilus: Vigilus Defiant, and Legal White Dwarf, Errata’s, and FAQ’s are in effect. • No paint scoring is enforced (painted models play better though) but must be WYSIWYG and 85% of each model used in your army must be a Current Games Workshop product. Converted models played in the event should be scaled and modeled properly to current Games Workshop product proportion. • Battle-scribe is a preferred army builder tool but a clear and concise written list will be accepted with all appropriate names, equipment cost and points for each model or the Standard List Format (E.T.C.) may be used (link is below). Digital copies of your army list will not be accepted, unless sent in prior to the T.O. for preregistration. Digital copies of your index or codex or equivalent army is prohibited but will be allowed if the T.O. and opponents are aware and have access to any rules you have. • Unsportsmanship like conduct is not allowed. • Any rules changes can and will be made if need be, by the T.O. if something seems off or not timely appropriate.
