Re: [ljc] Re: [jug-leaders] Netbeans IDE to try Java 9 on.

Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone has tried Java 9 on OS-X Yoesmite? The last time I did, it ruined most Java 6 programs on my machine (Eclipse-Mars was throwing exceptions and stopped launching) although I did manage to hack a bit in InteliJ 14.x (which is Java 6 I suppose), so I had to delete every trace of it. Any similar stories or it's just me being unlucky or stupid perhaps?

Cheers.

IntelliJ IDEA does support Java 9, you can use the OpenJDK version of Java 9 as your project SDK the same as any other version of Java.  You can also select 9 as your language level.

I've tested out one of my projects with the latest Java 9 build (on IntelliJ 14.1) and it works just fine, I'm going to do a bit more checking to see what the support for Java 9 language features is like.

Hi all,

I haven't followed closely whether IntellJ and Eclipse have Alpha/Beta builds out, but NetBeans has a version you can try - http://jaxenter.com/take-early-jdk-9-for-a-spin-in-netbeans-9-118360.html

Cheers,
