Hi Puget Sound Wine Meetup Group!
I'm (somewhat) new to the Wine Meetup group, so have not had a chance to meet any of you yet.
 
Just wanted to see if any of you are available and willing to help judge wines at the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe on Sunday August 9th?
 
You don't have to be a certified judge.  I do ask the following:
> You drink reds, whites, roses, and dessert wines on a regular basis (no "reds only"/need unbiased tastebuds)
> You drink ALL varietals - its okay to have preferences, we all do, but you must be familiar enough with what the typical varietal characteristics (example: you know riesling isn't oaked, and a bit about how its styled)
> You are flexible enough that you'll judge any of the categories without complaint
 
I'll be leading a 15 minute overview of tasting, evaluating, and the scoring process, and will be there to answer questions during the judging.
 
The event takes place at the fairgrounds in Monroe on Sunday 8/9.  We'll start around 10am, have lunch provided onsite, and finish up around 2-3pm, depending on how many wines/how many judges we get.
