Hello, hello!
Here is a quick update on our wine event on 20 November (Friday). Base details on venue, food and RSVP link is here:
http://www.meetup.com/Singapore-Wine-Meetup-Group/events/226691393/
First, I am very sorry but in the announcement message there was a mistake, the price for this event is not $55 but $60 nett. Very sorry about that, I have corrected the text and I think I have notified everyone who has already RSVPed but if not – here it is.
Secondly, there are already 8 people going (combined and excluding myself) so if you are interested – please RSVP sooner than later (may become too late due to capacity restrains). After registering, please drop me a message with your mobile number for final confirmation later next week. To remind, this event will be held if we have 100% confirmed attendance from at least 10 people. The deadline for registration is lunchtime 19 November. Cheers!
And finally, below is a bit of extra info on the wines. The wines included are of high caliber and are very capable, please check on Vivino or Wine-searcher for extra details if needed. Should keep us all busy! In case you will come a bit later than 7-7:30pm – no worries, we will keep your share of the wine. Just don’t be tooooo late!
Oh, one more thing!!! We will be sitting in a comparatively cool place, so, ladies especially, if you don’t like cold – make sure you have an extra blouse or something. Wine and good company certainly do warm up everything but… just in case :)
Have a great weekend and hope to see you next week! If anything – message me!

Chateau Lilian Ladouys St Estephe Medoc Bordeaux 2010 (France)
The deep purple 2010 Lilian Ladouys has
aromas of violets, cassis and blackberries, and on the palate delivers a juicy,
ripe and elegant full bodied red with great purity of fruit expression. This is
a wine of good density, balance and length, with potential to age.

Chateau Trimoulet, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2007 (France)
A Bordeaux Blend, at its most basic, is any
combination of those grape varieties typically used to make the red wines of
Bordeaux. The phrase, which seems to have originated with British wine
merchants in the 19th Century, relates
as much to wines made from the blend as to the grape variety combination itself.

Domino Del Plata, BenMarco
Expresivo 2012 (Argentina)
This Cabernet – Malbec – Syrah is a powerful
and inky red blend that is proving particularly popular in Malbec's adopted
home, Argentina, and to a smaller extent the US and Australia. Black cherries
and mildly smorky and sweet vanilla oak. Layers of currant fruit, dense black
cherry, and notes of brown spice ( cocoa, nutmeg ) dark chocolate, and hints
sandalwood. Perfect balance, great concentration and length, loaded with fine,
ripe tannins for having with food or for aging.
