Hope this isn’t too far out of the box. How about Howard
Zinn’s “A People’s History of the United States” or “Voices
of a People’s History of the United States”? Maybe a little inflammatory,
but certainly a stimulating alternative to popular “feel good”
American history.

I've
got my thinking cap on, but if you want to pick 'outside the box', here are
other events in July: http://holidayinsights.com/moreholidays/july.htm

I'm stuck on a book for July. I'm thinking something patriotic in honor of the
Fourth of July, but can't seem to find anything that catches my fancy.
Suggestions please!!
