Vienna City Hiking, path 8: Sofienalpe

To continue after last year's rundumadum series there's a new set of monthly hikes. This year it's the city hiking pathes. All pathes are about 10 km long and take 3 hours. These are comfortable trails suitable for anyone who likes walking. We don't do them in numeric order but made an effort to match them to the season.

This time path nr. 8: A walk on the wooded plateau of Sofienalpe is a good opportunity to get plenty of fresh air and take in unspoilt nature. Length 9 km, total ascent about 280 m.

If you don't know how to get to the meeting point please use the journey planner on http://www.wienerlinien.at/. It's also easy to arrive by car since these are loop hikes, i. e. start and finish are the same place.

You will be provided with a hiking pass free of charge on your first time to collect stamps for the Vienna Hiking Pin. Don't forget to take the pass with you next time. For 3 stamps the silver pin is awarded and for 7 the golden one. We will collect them at the city hall next year.

Afterwards you may join us for a well-deserved meal in a traditional venue. Please keep your RSVP status updated as we have to book tables there.

There's no bad weather, just bad equipment, we're going at any weather! So bring good comfortable shoes, rain protection, water and some food.
