Genital Autonomy America (GAA) is proud to sponsor a film series in recognition of the Fourth Worldwide Day of Genital Autonomy. GAA advocates for the protection of ALL children (male, female and intersex) from non-therapeutic genital cutting practices that violate their basic human rights to bodily integrity and self-determination.
Films to be screened with their producers in attendance, followed by Q&A and discussion:
Sat May 7: Whose Body, Whose Rights?
Examines the negative health and human rights impact of infant male circumcision
Sat May 7: Intersexion
A revealing look at gender-conforming genital surgeries on those born with ambiguous genitalia
Sun May 8: Cut: Slicing through the Myths of Circumcision
An Orthodox Jewish filmmaker questions both the American social custom and the Jewish ritual of infant male circumcision
Sun May 8: Fire Eyes
Somali-born filmmaker recounts her experience with female circumcision
Admission is free. Donations are highly encouraged to support the work of Genital Autonomy America.
