Ceph in a Research Environment

Marcel Wallschläger from TU Berlin (https://www.cit.tu-berlin.de/) will give a talk about Ceph running in a research environment combined with OpenStack.

Their research is mainly focused on power consumption of virtualized datacenters (aka cloud). They use Ceph as blockstorage for VMs as well as image storage. Since some months they also use cephfs as dfs in their setup.

He will show you the setup in detail and will present some benchmarks he made with and without having SSDs running in their Ceph nodes.
