We're excited to welcome Christoph Burgdorf to speak about Rust, a new and exciting system programming language by Mozilla. Additionally, this event will be the perfect chance for you to wind down before the hectic holiday season. We will have drinks and pizza on a first-come-first-served basis so come early to guarantee a slice!
Event Description:
Rust is a system programming language by Mozilla, developed for fast and safe system applications. Even though the language is very young, you can start building stuff with it today! In fact, Christoph started the nickel.rs (http://nickel.rs/) project, which aims to be a blazingly fast, easy to use web application framework for Rust to build fully featured web applications. In this session Christoph will show you why you want to learn Rust and how it can be used for real world web programming.

Speaker's biography:
Christoph Burgdorf began with programming at the age of 10 with BASIC but has since moved on to become proficient in various different programming languages andtechnologies. Christoph has contributed to many projects, including AngularJS, jquery-ui, TodoMVC and the banshee media player. He’s also an active Rustacean and the creator of the nickel.rs (http://nickel.rs/) framework. When he's not evangelizing Angular or Git with his new company thoughtram, you may find him traveling the world with his bicycle.
