Vaadin Christmas Meetup in Düsseldorf

Wie wir alle wissen, sind gerade zur Weihnachtszeit “Rentiere” besonders aktiv. Wir hoffen, dass das auch im übertragenen Sinn für die “Vaadiners” aus unserer Community gilt, und laden hiermit zum Treffen in Düsseldorf ein. Auch hier geht es wieder darum, eine Plattform für einen offenen und freundlichen Erfahrungsaustausch rund um Vaadin zu bieten. Firmen, die Vaadin seit Jahren im Einsatz haben, sind genauso willkommen, wie Studenten, die aus Neugierde damit experimentieren, oder Vaadin-Neulinge, die einfach mal etwas mehr darüber erfahren wollen. Das Meetup ist für alle offen!

Los geht’s um 18 Uhr, so dass auch die teilnehmen können, die an strikte Bürozeiten gebunden sind. In zwei bis drei Stunden bieten wir dann ein paar längere Vorträge, eine Reihe von Kurzvorträgen und Demos, sowie genügend Raum für Diskussionen. Für Verpflegung in den Pausen ist natürlich auch gesorgt.

Damit das Ganze möglichst interessant und gemischt wird, setzen wir aber auch auf eure Mithilfe: Hast du eine interessante Erfahrung mit Vaadin gemacht? Vielleicht ein Add-on geschrieben oder dich besonders intensiv mit einem Thema beschäftigt? Ein Experiment das bestimmte Aspekte des Frameworks beleuchtet? Wenn du Lust hast, auf dem Meetup etwas dazu zu erzählen, kurz oder lang, in Form von Slides, Live Demo oder einfach nur reden, würden wir uns sehr freuen. Jeder Beitrag ist willkommen! Melde dich in dem Fall bitte kurz vorab bei mir ( juergen@vaadin.com ), damit wir sicherstellen können, dass das zeitlich auch klappt.

Wer selbst keinen Beitrag hat, aber vielleicht einen Themenvorschlag, zu dem er gerne etwas mehr hören würde, darf sich ebenfalls gerne melden. Je mehr Feedback und Beiträge wir bekommen, desto interessanter wird das Meetup für alle!

Wenn ihr Zeit und Lust habt, würden wir uns sehr freuen, euch am 03.12. um 18 Uhr in Düsseldorf zu sehen. Und wer weiß, vielleicht ist das ein oder andere “Rentier” ja schon in offizieller Mission mit einem “Schlitten” voller Geschenke unterwegs! ;)

As we all know, especially during the time around Christmas, Reindeers are just everywhere. Our hopes are, that this is also true in the figurative sense and that we can gather a group of “Reindeers” (read Vaadiners) in the Düsseldorf area for a casual get-together before Christmas vacations. As usual, we aim to provide a forum for a friendly and open exchange of experiences and ideas around everything Vaadin. Companies with years of Vaadin experience are just as welcome as students experimenting with it or Vaadin newcomers just looking for some more information. The Meetup is open to everyone!

We’ll start at 6 pm, to give those of you bound by traditional office hours a chance to attend as well. During two to three hours, we’ll have a couple of longer talks as well as a few shorter talks and demos plus plenty of room for discussions. Your well-being will be taken care of with free drinks and snacks during breaks.

To make things interesting for everyone, we depend on your contributions though: Is there an interesting experience with Vaadin you could share? Some add-on you have developed or some topic you have been studying in depth? Maybe some experiment highlighting certain aspects of the framework? If you are interested in presenting it at the Meetup, briefly or extensively, with or without slides, live demo or just talking about it, we would be more than happy to give you a slot. Just drop me a couple of lines ( juergen@vaadin.com ) prior to the Meetup so we can make sure the schedule works out.

If you do not have anything to contribute yourself but instead have a few topics you would like to know more about, feel free to let me know as well and we will see what we can do. The more feedback and contributions we get the more interesting it will be for everyone!
