Re: [EvanstonWritersWorkshop] TODAY'S THE DAY!!

I don't have an extra writing machine, since I use mine, but I figured I'd reply on-list since others might find it useful.

I use a portable keyboard, put out by the brand name Neo.  The one I use is the AlphaSmart 2000; you can find a 3000 or use one of the Neos (Lyn uses that one, and it's Palm OS compatible).  The one I use cost $25 on eBay shipping, takes 3 AA batteries and holds 700 hours of charge - well worth the investment.

Here's a few options I found online, but shop around:

https://www.google.com/search?q=alphasmart&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#q=alphasmart&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=wwL&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=imvnsl&source=univ&tbm=shop&tbo=u&sa=X&ei=G1awTs_YIMHtrAeFiu1o&ved=0CEUQrQQ&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=d436bb2640fc3f1a&biw=1280&bih=861

I do NOT suggest you buy a new one, since it's around $300; if you have that much in your budget I'd strongly suggest you look at the Acer Netbooks instead.

https://www.google.com/search?q=acert+netbook&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#q=acer+netbook&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=tcg&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=imvnsr&source=univ&tbm=shop&tbo=u&sa=X&ei=Q1awTrLiDoXtrAfJtcRs&ved=0CJwBEK0E&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=d436bb2640fc3f1a&biw=1280&bih=861

I hope that helps!

Are you ready, troops?  TODAY IS THE DAY!  NaNo, Day One!

If you've ever wanted to write a novel, today is your day!

If you haven't done it yet, go to www.nanowrimo.org and sign up for an account.  Enter details about your novel project - make it up if you have to - and get writing!

It's only 1,667 words, which is about 4 pages - 6 if you double-space.  Come to our write-ins, and check out other write-ins in the Chicago area by signing up for the Chicago region.

So, who's with me?  WRITE ON!

Amanda
