Hi Dave,

Thanks for your email. I know the video tried to cover many areas. The donation section I missed but maybe because I watch it on iPad and it does not allow flush pop ups. (the technology, eh?) but you also tries to cover large territory in your debunk response.

Let's take one GM corn. Over 90% of crop is genetically modified. That's a fact. ( I differentiate between fact and truth, by the way) in this case they tell you the negative aspect on our health is minimal per each use - that's truth. Of course, they do not tell you about cumulative effect over time. Less then 10% of corn is used for human consumption in natural state - corn. The real money is in two areas (1) alcohol (ethanol) and (2) HFCS - high fructose corn syrup or as I call it a poison. It's everywhere from bottled water to what ever you touch, we consume about 110 lb of sugar and 60% of it is HFCS. And yes "Virginia" it causes male infertility, also obesity, cardiovascular diseases and hold yourself a CANCER. It is considered now an one of the main culprit of chronic inflammation.

I can't answer the Chem trails. I do not know what it means. Maybe you can tell me.

Crop Circles - no idea

Purposefully poisoned vaccines - too vague, maybe you can go more into detail. There is a big fight over vaccination in France. Germany and many Northern States consider forced vaccination against the law. Here in North America the "revolving door politicians" are pushing for law to force d vaccination in some US states. I don't know about Canada.

Only what I know the flue vaccination is a total nonsense. They inject last year strain to protect against new strain of virus. No logic there, just Pharma companies make money and few weak immunity older people and young kids die for not reason at all.

Maybe that give you few points to have a friendly on line fight. But please keep to facts not "truths", specially if it comes from self serving talking heads, specially if they put on a starched white coats  and Stetoscope around the neck.

Stan,

I'm sorry you feel my observation "ricks" of ignorance. Almost every main stream conspiracy theory was mentioned in this piece. And we are to take them all on the legit-sounding equal footing in which they were delivered. Chem trails. Crop circles and purposefully poisoned vaccines?! GM corn that causes male infertility... Really?

I have no doubt we are living in troubled times, but this whole piece was made to generate funding and sell swag. I noticed around the halfway mark, when the content started making emotional appeals that a 'donate message' appeared not less than 3 times. Each time punctuated an emotional appeal.

If you want to change the world for the better, make sure the info your basing your actions on is sound.

The heinous part of most conspiracy theories is that they are based on fact, lots of facts, and lots of creative correlations. The more info you gather, the more of a pattern you are likely to see. There is a term for that. Apophenia

Hello Dave and rest of the gang.

Dave, please tell me where you see a "polished ignorance". I am sorry, but your answer ricks of arrogant ignorance. I have also watched the video, maybe because I have a in depth knowledge on some of the subjects mentioned, I found it in most cases based on facts, which are sometime contrary to established "true" of 2 minutes TV news programs.

No questions the program jumps from subject to subject and uses the facts of each subject to establish world domination theory. But World Domination Theory is an old news - Egyptian tried to do it 5000 years ago, then Greeks, Romans, Spanish,English, Germans (remember WW2?) by war, Christianity, Islam by religion, Communists, Americans by political theory. The money theory is one of the latest and maybe will be successful, it's uses human greed as a base.

Don't be so hard on yourself, Betty. ;) I just finished watching the video and it outlines the abundance of well polished ignorance we've come to expect from the 'conspirotainment' industry. I'm trying to get it highlighted in next weeks skeptics in the pub as a conversation starter.

I say good find! It's important to get acquainted with the concept of snake oil, as a basis for critical thinking.

I do appreciate your responses about Thrive..heard good things about Thrive and on that basis I personally forwarded it to our Physics group without vetting it.. Maybe I can redeem myself with a Lecture I attended at the Perimeter Institute.. This would be a good topic for the group..Yes?(suggested by Victor btw..)

This kind of right wing agenda, new age, unscientific crap has no place being promoted in a serious physics group. Right from the start, I was suspicious of its slick graphics and unsubstantiated claims. Gambles beatific manner is off-putting to anyone who listens with a critical mind. This free energy "Thrive" thing falls into the category of perpetual motion hyperbole.
