Casting: The Collaborative Process

Screenplays are written with the writer's image of characters. The director reads the screenplay and adds a new vision to who the characters will be. The character gains a third dimension when you add the casting director to the team.

Join writers Monica Lee Bellais and Tapio Christiansen along with directors Michael Skinner and Jai Jamison and casting director/producer Kimberly Skyrme to discuss the casting process on feature films APRIL COME SHE WILL and TRI.

We will discuss the original ideas that the writers and directors had for roles and how the casting directors introduction of creative alternatives changed their mind and enhanced the story. We will review clips from each film, discuss the creative collaborative process, and conclude with a Q&A session.

Date: Thursday, March 24, 2106
Time:  6:30 to 8:30 pm
Location: Towson University
Van Bokkelen Hall 204, 7800 York Road, Towson, MD 21252
