Correct - smtp.krackeler.com is for authenticated outbound messages.

It seems to resolve fine on those DNS servers - but the MX for that domain is mail.krackeler.com - so why is it trying to contact smtp? I’d guess that’s their (authenticated) outbound route?

The TTL *shouldn’t* make a difference...

Hi All,

I'm using SwiftMailer to send emails from my website. Most email are sent just fine, but occasionally I get exceptions with the message below. The site is hosted on Digital Ocean, and uses Google's Public DNS servers [masked] and[masked]) The SMTP server is run by a shared hosting company.

Swift_TransportException - Connection could not be established with
host smtp.krackeler.com [php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed:
No address associated with hostname #0]

Has anybody else experienced something similar? What is the source of the problem? I feel like PHP and Google are scrutinized enough that the problem isn't on their end. I feel like the TTL for the dns record for the SMTP server is quite low.
