It seems to resolve fine on those DNS servers - but the MX for that domain is mail.krackeler.com - so why is it trying to contact smtp? I’d guess that’s their (authenticated) outbound route?

The TTL *shouldn’t* make a difference...

Has anybody else experienced something similar? What is the source of the problem? I feel like PHP and Google are scrutinized enough that the problem isn't on their end. I feel like the TTL for the dns record for the SMTP server is quite low.
