Hey Alex,
We are all here...are you still planning on talking tonight.

Sure. I just redid both tutorials -- I actually got through the App Engine Magic one all the way to the point where I'm just supposed to put (ae/start foo-app) except when I put (ae/start guestbook) it doesn't run.? I actually felt really dumb the second time around and people will probably laugh at my errors but I'm not bashful so I don't mind presenting as long as I finally get the thing to run.? The errors I made along the way are fresh in my mind though so I will document them best I can and try to recreate things I did wrong previously because they may be common to newcomers.? The El Humidor tutorial I am convinced is permanently broken/deprecated but can document my errors there as well.? It would be good to see an installation without the abstraction of app-engine-magic so people understand the magic.?

I think this is great. ?When I did the survey a while back people seemed to be interested in learning more about solving real problems. ?Perhaps we can frame this as a "Discussion in troubleshooting and building Clojure applications" and then describe a little bit about the project.
google docs are fine and working examples are always a good point for discussion with a room full of developers.

Thanks for volunteering. ?If you are ok with my description, I post it up there shortly.

Eric?

OK Thanks.? How about I bold print code sections that I had to modify from github files to get them to work on my system and print out error messages I got by trying each protocol, workarounds I figured out.? Where I didn't figure out a workaround and got stuck, I can throw the question to someone more knowledgeable to explain the workaround.? Maybe make a crude drawing or simple outline of my directory structure so people have an idea of how it was laid out so they can map the concepts onto their particular configuration of directories.? Is there some optimal format to present this, like maybe a Google Document?? I'm not sure how best to work with your projectors/screens.? I'm on Ubuntu Linux.? I have a Netbook so I could bring it and we could demonstrate the workarounds live and make sure they work.? Thanks.

Alex,
I think you would probably find several people who might have simliar problems and could spark a fertile conversation on using and building Clojure apps. ?It looks like Constantine will be attending and he can chime in on the google app engine piece.
If you would like to present, that would be great. ?Give me a short description of how you want to describe it and we can take it from there.

Let me know ASAP.
Thanks!
Eric

I could talk about my frustrations trying to?get Clojure/Compojure with Google App Engine and how none of the tutorials I found on the web seem to work as promised?? Maybe others struggling had the same obstacles and they could be addressed.? I have tried App Engine Magic presented at the November meetup and couldn't figure out how to set the default war path and also tried El Humidor's tutorial but couldn't figure out how to include compojure.http.? If?I figure it out by Wednesday I could give a walkthrough.??I did manage to get Clojure working with Emacs/Slime which was a royal pain.??

Hey guys,
We are coming up on our final meetup for the year.
In looking at the previous meetups, I think we have had a really great group of speakers. I want to thank everyone for contributing and participating in the group this past year and look forward to more interesting talks and some workshops in the year to come.

We are short a speaker for this Wednesdays meetup...any volunteers who would like to present?

Thanks again,
Eric
