Zak, Thanks for that. Actually you loaned it to Rob who loaned it to Kevin. He should be bringing it at the next meetup.

It did have a lot of good things, but it also had a lot of the background information we are hoping to avoid. Honestly I am not even sure if there are any books that skip all the common knowledge stuff. It seems that a lot of books, even intermediate ones, go over information that has already been reviewed in other books. It seems to me it would be nice to have a series. Book one What is the internet, websites and so on. Book two how to make a website. Book three CSS tricks. Book four design elements...thats just an example but I am sure you know what I mean.

I had an XHTML/CSS book I once brought, I think I loaned it to someone.  It was a very blunt approach with good examples and simple wording.  As I remember they also had a lot of useful charts and whatnot.  I don't remember the exact name but the logo was a red square with a white bunny inside.  Whoever has that should check it out and let us know their thoughts.
