To the people who build, design, and contribute to all things on the world wide web,
We’re a community working to revitalize the creative, technical, and professional culture of those who build things for the internet in and around the Cleveland area.
Whether you’re a designer, developer, founder, copywriter, maker, marketeer, or anything in between, we're bringing people together from different disciplines to inspire new ideas, improve our skillsets, create friendships, and help each other get better at what we do.
We meet each month in an informal setting that encourages the sharing of ideas with others in the industry. We'll explore the ideas of companies and individuals in the Cleveland area that are making their impact online.
Sometimes, that means hopping to different offices in the area to learn more about the story of a local business. Other times, it's a social roundup at one of our many local breweries. Either way, you'll always leave having learned something new or made a new connection.
Aztek is a digital agency in Cleveland Ohio that decided to transition from waterfall to agile practices a few years back. In this talk, we'll recount some stories and lessons from along the way; What worked, what didn't, and what kind of results we've seen. Spoiler alert: It wasn't easy, and we're not done.
Not familiar with Agile or Waterfall methods? Check out the attached visuals for a brief intro.
Dave Skorepa is the Chief Creative Officer at Aztek and has worked at the company for 18 years. He oversees the design team which includes all visual design, UX, and front end development. He helped oversee (and survived) the transition from waterfall to agile. Likes explosions, beer, and ideas (not necessarily in that order).
