Dear 12mins Rockers,

it´ s our utmost pleasure to unveil the speakers for our next 12min.me expat event on the 10th of August at Mantro. Let´s keep fingers crossed and pray for good weather as we might take the talks to the terrace :)

The event will be held in English. All other procedures tend to stay unaltered thus you can expect inspiring 12mins talks, 12 mins of striking questions and 12mins of networking, drinking and meeting cool people.

Speaker 1:

Hesam Rabeti (TU Munich) - „What is AI“

Hesam will give us an overview and introduction to artificial intelligence, what it is, what it means, potential applications and use cases and will also get you a bit closer to some of the super hot buzzwords flying around nowadays.

Hesam is an engineer fascinated by all things related to science and technology. He is currently at the Technical University of Munich working on machine perception. His latest work involves improving Google Tango enabled devices’ ability to reconstruct the world in 3D. Before moving to Munich, he worked on the latest microprocessor technologies at Intel in California.

Speaker 2:

Florian Emanuel Deisler (Global Shapers) - "Coding School"

Intelligent automation and digitalization are changing whole industries at a never seen pace. This has vast implications for society and public interest. Furthermore, this has implications for the labour market that are already starting to show. Many Jobs will become obsolete and the workforce of tomorrow will face different skill requirements than today. The Global Shapers Munich under the patronage of the world economic forum are building a coding school for kids from a weaker socioeconomic background with difficult access to tech and tech education to prepare them for the labour market of tomorrow. However, the question what our society should look like in the digital age remains unanswered. It’s a question we need to ask to enable everybody to be part of society and maintain civil order.

Florian is working for Gigatronik an automotive supplier researching deep reinforcement learning in virtual reality. After Abitur he started studying mechanical Engineering but dropped out to start a company to change the home heating marked by focusing on combined heat and power facilities. After technical difficulties, he resumed studying mechanical engineering.
With the Global Shapers he started an initiative to teach children who don’t have good access to tech and tech education to code. Seeing the different realities of teaching kids, contributing to preparing them for the labour market and the advancements of automation through his job, he thinks we need to discuss how technology is transforming society and what society should look like in the digital age.

How often do you feel that is true? How many times do you doubt yourself, fear taking action, feel lost & confused and simply wonder what does it take to truly live a remarkable life? We all experience life through our own lens yet we don't acknowledge or become aware of that. We allow the exterior world to dictate our interior one. We chase goals and dreams that perhaps are not really ours, we feel numb at times or think of giving up yet we fail to see that there is so much beauty in being human. So let's change the narrative. Let's take back our power and claim our inner strength. Let's stand up & speak out our truth. Let's learn to live authentically & discover each day of our human experience for what it is: a joy to be alive. Let me show you how to "Unleash your true inner power" and create the life you want or dream of & that you most definitely deserve.

Alexandra - a Romanian breaking the boundaries around and within her. She spent the last 10 years traveling the world, living abroad in places like Canada, Malaysia and now Germany enjoying this playground we call Earth. Being faced with a variety of adversities & challenges, she has set on a journey of empowerment, embodying the essence of being alive and enjoying her human experience here with a vision of empowering others to live authentically and accordingly to their inner truth. From a young age, Alexandra was ready to take the world by storm always questioning, exploring, expressing curiosity for all sorts of things and feeling like there is more than meets the eye. But over time and a bit of conditioning, she was fitting in the box of what should and shouldn't be befitting of a lady. Which led to a series of events that eventually had her in what she calls "the dark ages". But the universe had something else in mind for her and a few years back she managed to rise up and rediscovered that inner voice eager to make a difference and to play a part in changing the world for the better. She currently works with an awesome team towards unleashing human potential & helping humanity shine.
