TOOLS: Meet Makers' Favorite Helpers

This month's main topic is TOOLS! We'll share our favorite helpers that get us through our Maker day. So bring a tool that has become surprisingly indispensable for your work, but that other makers may not even know about. It can be anything from a fantastic Knipex wirestripper, to a cool logic analyzer, to an amazing smartphone app for electronics or a website recommending perfect color schemes for your DIY kites — anything that's not a "project" but that keeps helping you get your projects done.

ROGER LEIFERT, who is the CEO of electronics company AK Modul-Bus Computer GmbH and runs KainkaLabs together with electronics legend Burkhard Kainka, has graciously agreed to bring a whole battery of tools that he considers absolutely essential—so much that he's created an excellent series of YouTube videos "Every Maker Should Have One" showcasing them. We will also present some of our hot research projects that are aimed at making Makers' lives easier by providing easy-to-use design and prototyping tools.
