#28 Agile in real life Barcamp style: Let’s meet at ostec GmbH!

Dear Agilists,

while we are in the middle of the last quarter in 2021 already and a lot of things were to arrange behind the scenes, we are glad to finally come up with another invitation today. Yay! And although most of us are used to remote work and virtual Meetups, we want to do something special this time.

Hoping that the regulations in effect will allow it, we want to meet onsite at ostec GmbH! Thanks to Laura, Thomas, Antonia and Stefan for making it possible and for all the effort spent already!

Of course we must and will comply with the official hygiene standards, knowing that all the different regulations come with specific pros and cons. Still, we try to balance feasibility and risks to provide you with the opportunity to meet some members in person and to be part of a Barcamp style onsite event.

What does this mean in particular?

First of all, we will go for an interactive format which some of you might know from Unconferences or Open Spaces. Of course our venue is not that big and the number of attendees has to be strictly limited. Therefore we will go for four session slots only. Nevertheless it’s going to be a networking and experience sharing event which needs your proactive contribution. Instead of a fixed agenda we prepare a rough schedule of time slots and breaks. The Barcamp style part starts with session pitches. So feel free to bring your topic and pitch it! ‘
By the way, you do not need to be an expert, you can either share some experiences respectively expert knowledge or just bring in a question you want to discuss.

For those who do not know ostec and the amazing people behind it yet, there will be a nice extra on top: Thomas will provide a short introduction to Holacracy at the beginning of the event before we start the Barcamp pitches.
In addition there will be some ostec colleagues around to answer your questions and to potentially provide some nice session topics as well, since one of the biggest challenges for ostec is to live and apply Agility while dealing with diverse customer projects.
Sounds exciting? Indeed.

Apart from the format and the potential subjects we have to cover the bureaucratic part as well.
After checking and discussing pros and cons we decided to go with the so-called 2G rule to meet the official regulations. That means, you are welcome to participate as long as you are vaccinated against Covid19 and the vaccine protection is already effective or you are fully convalesced from a Covid19 infection. (Please consider the applying waiting periods!)
The referring certificates are going to be checked at the entrance. In addition we have to care for data processing according to corona regulations. Therefore you have to fill in your contact details in a paper form. So please be on time...

We appreciate your understanding and ask you to refrain from discussions about the current Corona policies or the admission rules for the event.

In addition we will take some photos - as usual - which we might use for our Meetup group (Meetup.com, Xing, LinkedIn) and for the ostec webpage.
Again, this event will be held in English or German, whatever will be the most convenient option to involve each participant.

Aaaaand last but not least, another good news: ostec will provide us with some snacks to make sure you’ll survive even when arriving from work. Drinks will be available as well for small amounts of money. So please bring some cash as well.

You are welcome to participate as long as you are vaccinated or you are fully convalesced from a Covid19 infection. The referring certificates are going to be checked at the entrance. For data processing according to corona regulations, you have to fill in your contact details in a paper form at the entrance. You'll most probably have to wear a mask when entering the building. For the event itself you do not need to wear the mask. We appreciate your understanding.
