Btw, we recently got the question why we decided to introduce a small door fee. So here is our answer:
In the past, we've had a guest list up to 150 people where only 20 people showed up (while we ordered food and drinks for everyone), so we've decided to ask a small fee to diminish this high 'no show' effect somewhat. This has proven to be quite effective. The raised fees we invest in the following meetup(s). It is really awful to eat pizza for lunch a whole week. Hope you all understand. Btw, Meetup only offers a Paypal solution to pay the door fee. If you don't have a Paypal account, please send us a message so we can figure something out.
Furthermore; the attendants present at the meetup that was previously organised, will receive an invitation to join the next meetup for free.
