Justin Shenk is writing his master thesis on "breaking the black box of deep learning" with Peltarion at the University of Osnabrück. He delivers presentations internationally as an Intel AI Software Innovator.

Abstract: Have you ever wondered, "What is he/she really saying?" Speech recognition and text analysis, via Python APIs, can be combined for a variety of practical and non-practical purposes. Justin will give a live comparison of relevant modern open source and Google Cloud APIs. Come and join the discussion of how to use human voice and text (and the masses of data that come with it) for personal or professional projects.

"STEP-BY-STEP TRANSFER LEARNING WITH PYTHON & KERAS"

Johannes studies Computer Science at the University of Münster.

Abstract: Training Convolutional Neural Networks even for relatively simple tasks usually requires large amounts of labelled data and the training process is very time consuming. The talk gives a step-by-step introduction on how 'Transfer Learning' can be used to quickly attain good results on classification tasks, even with small datasets.
