Transaction Dynamics of Blockchain and Predictable Bitcoin Bubbles

ABSTRACT:
During the next Lecture, Prof. Sornette will talk about Bitcoin Blockchain transaction dynamics and predictable Bitcoin bubbles as innovation accelerators. The presentation will be divided into four parts. In the first part, you will learn about bubble dynamics and what can be concluded from them. Secondly, Mr. Sornette will talk about the ageing dynamics of bitcoin transactions and prices. Thirdly, the social bubble hypothesis applied to Bitcoin will be discussed. Last but not least, Prof. Sornette will discuss the question whether cryptocurrencies will replace fiat money.

SPEAKER:
Didier Sornette is Professor on the Chair of Entrepreneurial Risks at the ETH Department of Management, Technology and Economics. Besides that, he is teaching Physics and Geophysics at ETH, where he co-founded the ETH Risk Center. Mr. Sornette is Director of the Financial Crisis Observatory and Member of the Swiss Finance Institute. He holds a PhD in Physical Sciences from the University of Nice and is author/coauthor of more than 600 research papers in refereed international journals and more than 200 papers in books and conference proceedings.
