##Talks
#Judith Stagl: "Monitoring data of seabirds – How to set them free and let them fly" (20min)

This talk will spotlight the data management activities by the German Federal Agency of Nature Conservation, which collects a huge amount of marine biodiversity monitoring data in the German EEZ, and draw an arc from the data collection by scientific research institutes to the desired spatial information products including online map applications and WebServices.

Judith is a german geo-IT consultant at con terra GmbH and a specialist in designing service-orientated IT architectures for spatial data. Prior to that, she worked many years as a research scientist solving environmental real world problems by using spatial data-based systems and scenarios analysis, data integration, and data modeling tools including machine learning techniques.

#Knut Hühne: "Wikidata - the world's knowledge at your fingertips" (20 min)

Wikidata is a community project with the goal to store all of the world’s knowledge in a machine readable format. This data can be viewed, edited and -most excitingly - queried by everyone. In this talk I will show how the Wikidata Query Interface allows us to ask questions about the world around us and can help us explore these with automatic interactive visualisations.

Knut is a software developer from Germany and Open Data enthusiasts who loves spreading his excitement for the Wikidata project.

#Sowmya Yellapragada: “Personalized routing using millions of anonymized GPS traces“ (20min)

It is a challenge to incorporate user driving preferences into a navigation system. We present a two step solution to this challenge. First we identify driving preferences of users using anonymized GPS traces. Next we use this inference of driving preferences in optimizing the cost function so as to return routes that best incorporate personal preferences of real users.

Sowmya is a data scientist at Daimler Autonomous Services from Bangalore with a strong background in Data Analysis and Algorithms using Python, Swift and C++ and a special focus on the automotive industry.

##Aftershow
After the talks we will have the chance to chill a bit on the 20th/21st floor and welcome the autumn with a stunning view.

As we are at a new location this time, we would like to inform you, that the host might take some pictures and we hope you're fine with this. Furthermore we are looking for a pizza sponsor. Any contribution is highly appreciated and will be recognized.

Best regards,

Michael and Riccardo
