#19 - 2018.11 - Complex chatbot dialog flows; Document scanning on mobile
Details
SLOT1: Decision trees for complex chatbot dialog flows - Lyudmil Pelov, Oracle
Generally chatbots are computer programs designed to simulate human conversion but unfortunately often failed to deliver user experiences that are as seamless and efficient as they were intended to be. In this session we will demonstrate decision trees based skill set models that can traverse chatbots input variables like intent, entities and 3rd party data to reasonable and predictable human friendly dialog.
Lyudmil Pelov works as an Architect at the Oracle A-Team Mobile, Bot, DataScience and Cloud Architects Team. Before joining Oracle A-Team, he worked at Oracle Consulting and Fusion Middleware Architects, focusing on designing and implementing applications based on Oracle Middleware Technologies and related products for customers worldwide. At the Oracle A-Team he provides guidances, best practices and support for customers world wide integrating Oracle Cloud Technologies.
SLOT2: Real-time Document Detection using CNNs - Martin Stämmler
Shifting R&D from hand-crafted to data-driven. At the example of efficiently detecting and tracking paper documents in real-time on mobile devices, I’ll show, at the example of a mobile document scanning problem, how at Amadeus we shifted from hand-crafted Computer Vision algorithms to a data-driven solution using deep learning and elaborate data augmentation. The presented solution outperforms the previous solution while requiring only a fraction of the original development time.
Martin Stämmler works as an AI Architect for Amadeus IT Group, an international IT service provider for the travel and tourism industry. He develops mobile document scanning and NLP solutions for business travelers. The team is located in Munich and Bengaluru, India.
Martin came to Munich in 2006 and graduated in Mathematics at TU Munich. He worked as an independent iOS developer and as a Mobile Developer at a startup in Munich before joining Amadeus in 2016.
