Welcome to the JUG Oberpfalz Online Live Coding Sessions!
Our online sessions are held in English and streamed live on YouTube.
The recording will be available afterwards. Join the live chat, ask questions, and follow along as we explore what the next generation of software development might look like.
This session is hosted by Johannes Rabauer with special guest Lizzie Siegle from Entire.
Session Topic
AI coding assistants have changed how we write code, but what if the entire software development process needs to change as well? Entire is building an AI native developer platform that rethinks how humans and AI agents collaborate to build software. But does this vision actually work in practice?
In this live coding session, we'll take an honest and hands on look at Entire. During the first half, we'll discuss how AI is changing software engineering, why traditional developer workflows may no longer be enough, and what Entire is trying to achieve. We'll also critically examine the ideas behind the platform, where they shine, and where open questions remain.
In the second half, we'll put those ideas to the test by building and extending a real Java application using Entire. Together, we'll evaluate how the workflow feels, where it improves productivity, where it introduces new challenges, and whether it really changes the way we build software.
What we'll do
- Discuss how AI is changing software development
- Explore Entire's vision for AI native software engineering
- Build and extend a real Java application using Entire
- Evaluate the strengths and limitations of the workflow
- Compare traditional development with an AI native approach
- Answer questions from the community
