WHAT is it?

Getting together with fellow musicians to perform in front of a small audience in the intimate and judgment-free setting of our living room. The focus leans toward, but is not limited to, classical music. Have a look at our concert archive for a list of music that has been performed at LRCH in the past.

WHO are we?

This group is open to all music lovers. We are hobby, aspiring, professional and established musicians. We are classically trained or self-taught. We play the piano, cello, viola, flute, saxophone, and guitar; we sing operas and Lieder; we create music on our DAWs. We are also just music lovers and don't play any musical instruments.

WHY are we doing this?

We're pianists looking for cellists for an occasional duet. We're violinists seeking feedback before an audition. We're singer-songwriters trying out new materials before an audience. We're vocalists new in town waiting to be discovered. We're flutists wanting to overcome our stage fright before a big concert. We're a saxophonists needing more extrinsic motivations to practice regularly. We're prominent international superstars looking for a secret venue to surprise your fans. We're music lovers that just can't get enough.

WHEN is it?

First/second Friday or Saturday of the month. We take a summer break from July to September.

WHERE is it?

LRCH takes place literally in someone's living room. The organizer has a Bechstein Concert 8 piano plus an acoustic guitar at his place and can host about 25 people. There are not enough chairs for everyone, so most people will be sitting on cushions on the floor. Everyone with a piano at their place that has a non-smoking policy is encouraged to volunteer to host a Living Room Concert in turns.

HOW does it work?

There are two ways you can enjoy the Living Room Concert Hall.

As performing musicians: contact the organizer with the music you'd like to perform and you'll be added to the attendees list. You won't have to RSVP yourself and your spot is always guaranteed. You also get to bring a guest to the concert. We'd like to encourage everyone to sign up and play at LRCH: it's fun, satisfying, and you'll always be loved by our wonderful and appreciative audience.

As appreciating patrons: simply come and enjoy an evening of music as a member of the audience. You will have to RSVP on the website yourself, which always opens 1 week before the concert. Since priorities are given to performing musicians, there are usually only around 15 spots up for grabs. You might want to mark your calendar and RSVP as soon as it's open to get a spot. We also ask our visiting patrons to bring a bottle of wine/juice to share with everyone, or contribute 1 Euro to cover the running costs.

After the concert is over, everyone is invited to stick around, mingle, network and make friends.

Please go to each of our event page for more information.
